Bloomin’ Onion Bread – Delicious!

This Bloomin’ Onion Bread recipe obviously came about from the Outback Steak House bloomin’ onion. The difference, of course, is this is bread.

Bloomin’ Onion Bread has cheese stuffed in every crack and is cut just like the Onion from Outback.

This recipe makes enough to feed a small army. Which makes it a good candidate recipe for get-togethers with friends.

It’s a fun way to serve bread because everyone can just pull off a piece of cheesy onion bread.

This would be a great appetizer or bread for a meal.

Cheddar Bay Biscuits – Better Than Restaurants!

This awesome Cheddar Bay Biscuits recipe tastes just like Red Lobsters. It’s anytime grub. Sometimes I make them just to eat by themselves. They’re that good!

I’m from the south so you know I like my biscuits. I especially like biscuits for breakfast with bacon and eggs. Or even better with some sausage gravy.

But this ain’t no southern biscuit limited to mostly breakfast.

Don’t leave off the butter glaze. That’s what makes them special to me.

This homemade Cheddar Bay Biscuits recipe makes biscuits better than the restaurant!

Course: Appetizer
Cuisine: American
Keyword: Cheddar Bay Biscuits
Servings: 4
Calories: 305 kcal
Ingredients
Biscuits:
  • 2 1/2 cups Bisquick
  • 4 Tablespoons cold butter
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
Butter Glaze:
  • 3 Tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Lightly grease or line one cookie sheet with parchment; set aside.
  2. Combine Bisquick with cold butter in a medium bowl using a pastry cutter (I just use a fork to cut the butter into the mixture). Don't worry about mixing too thoroughly; there will be small chunks of butter in the mix about the size of peas. Add cheddar cheese, milk, and garlic powder. Mix by hand until combined, but don't over mix.
  3. Drop 1/4 cup portions of the dough onto the lightly greased or parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake for 11-13 minutes in preheated oven or until the tops of the biscuits begin to turn light brown.
  4. While the biscuits are baking, melt butter is a small bowl in the microwave. Stir in garlic powder and dried parsley flakes.
  5. After biscuits have come out of the oven, use a brush to spread the garlic butter over the tops of all the biscuits. Sprinkle a little kosher salt on the freshly coated biscuits. Makes one dozen.

Best Banana Bread Ever – Delicious Beyond Belief

This is the absolute Best Banana Bread Ever! There’s nothing that says home like the smell of fresh-baked bread. Really easy to make too.

When the bread in the oven is banana bread things are really kicked up a notch!

Though it is bread, this enjoyable treat is in many ways more like a cake.

The leavening agent in banana bread is usually baking soda instead of yeast. What’s more, unlike regular bread, banana bread is baked from a batter and not dough.

Delicious Potato Rolls! Do you shy away from making yeast bread? A lot of people do because it can be a little intimidating. These rolls, however, are very easy!

To make it even easier they can be made in the bread machine if you have one. The instructions in the recipe are for handmade. But for the bread machine just throw the ingredients in according to your machine instructions and set the machine on the dough cycle.

The results with either method are amazing! Soft and fluffy. The perfect dinner roll. So much better than store-bought rolls.

Give the recipe a try and I’ll just bet they will become your go-to roll recipe.

  • 1 1/2 C. warm water
  • 2/3 C. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 C. shortening
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 C. luke warm mashed potatoes
  • 7 - 7 1/2 C. all purpose flour

  1. In a large mixing bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm water along with 1 T. of the sugar. Allow to proof for 5 minutes.
  2. Add in the remaining sugar, shortening, eggs and potatoes. Add 5 C. of the flour and the salt. Beat until smooth (I used a stand mixer for this).
  3. Turn the dough out onto a heavily floured work surface and knead in as much of the remaining flour as needed to form a good dough. Knead for 5 minutes.
  4. Place the dough into a greased bowl, cover and allow to rise until double in size (about 1 1/2 - 2 hrs.).

  6. Allow the rolls to rise for 1 hour. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  7. (Approx. 20-24 rolls) The freeze well.

Crusty Bread

Crusty Bread

3 cups unbleached all purpose flour
1 3/4 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon Instant or Rapid-rise yeast
1 1/2 cups water

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, salt and yeast. Add water and mix until a shaggy mixture forms. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and set aside for 12 – 18 hours. Overnight works great.

Heat oven to 450 degrees. When the oven has reached 450 degrees place a cast iron pot with a lid in the oven and heat the pot for 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, pour dough onto a heavily floured surface and shape into a ball. Cover with plastic wrap and let set while the pot is heating.

Remove hot pot from the oven and drop in the dough. Cover and return to oven for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes remove the lid and bake an additional 15 minutes.

Remove bread from oven and place on a cooling rack to cool.
