This is the very best Salisbury Steak I’ve ever eaten. Give the recipe a try and you’ll never go back to the frozen dinners ever again.
I like to serve this dish with a side of Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Asparagus, and Homemade French Bread. This one is a keeper!
It is so easy and requires very little prep time. Exactly the type of recipe I need.

So easy and requires very little prep time.
- 1 10 1/2 ounce can Campbell's French onion soup
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1/2 cup dry breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 2 Tablespoons ketchup
- 1 -3 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
- 1/4 cup water
- In a large bowl, mix together 1/3 cup condensed French onion soup with the ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, salt and black pepper. Shape into 6 oval patties.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown both sides of the patties. Pour off excess fat.
- In a small bowl, blend the flour and the remaining soup until smooth. Mix in the ketchup, water, Worcestershire sauce and mustard powder.
- Pour over the meat in the skillet.
- Cover, and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Tips and Tidbits
You can also bake these in a 350 degree oven for 60 minutes, pouring the gravy over the last 5-10 minutes.
You can use an 80/20 ground turkey/ground beef mix for less fat and it’s still delicious!
