Aunt Darlene's Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1 8 ounce package cream cheese
  • 1 ⁄2 cup butter or 1⁄2 cup margarine softened
  • 1 16 ounce package powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 ⁄2 cup pecans
  • 1 ⁄2 cup coconut
  • 1 -2 drop red food coloring optional

Instructions

  1. In medium bowl, beat the cream cheese and butter on high speed until smooth. Gradually add in the powdered sugar and continue beating until spreadable.
  2. Stir in the vanilla. Add the pecans, coconut and red food coloring (if desired for Red Velvet Cake).
